When living in De Paul Manor Estate it is easy to forget that you are only minutes away from the central business district of Southport. De Paul Manor Estate is within an easy drive of the famous Gold Coast beaches and the scenic Gold Coast Hinterland. Brisbane and Coolangatta airports are an easy 1 hour drive from De Paul Manor Estate, and Brisbane Airport is directly accessible via the skytrain
De Paul Manor Estate retirement community is located at 1 Edmund Rice Drive (on the corner of the Nerang-Southport Road and Edmund Rice Drive) at Ashmore.

The village is adjacent to the Ashmore City Shopping Centre and Medical Centre. Within a ten to fifteen minute drive are Australia Fair Shopping Centre, Southport Park Shopping Centre and Harbour town, a direct factory outlet and shopper’s paradise. There is an extensive range of easily accessible quality restaurants in the Southport, Ashmore and Labrador areas as well as bowling, golf, football and RSL clubs. Surfers Paradise and Main Beach (well known for its proximity to The Spit as well as its range of eateries) are less than a fifteen minute drive away. Many of the local clubs run complimentary bus services for pick-up and return to the Manor Estate.

The gentle, warm, sub-tropical climate allows outdoor life to be enjoyed all year round. Coastal activities include fishing, boating, picnics and swimming in the fabulous Gold Coast Broadwater, beaches or at local beauty spots. The Hinze Dam is a thirty minute drive away in the hinterland and boasts many enjoyable and accessible walks. Both on the coast and in the hinterland there are extensive opportunities to explore museums, galleries, craft shops, restaurants, taverns and boutique shops.

Bus and train timetables and specific transport information is available on site. As well the Gold Coast City Council runs a subsidized taxi service in the area.

Central Facilities / Clubhouse:

The Residents’ Retreat (central community facility) has been particularly well-designed to encompass a large range of facilities for leisure and recreation.

Many of the components of the ‘Retreat’ were created from community input through surveying information from people expressing an interest in moving into the retirement community. It is usual that retirement communities are built in stages with the community facilities often not built for some period of time after the first opening of a new village. However this is not the case at De Paul Manor Estate. The Residents’ Retreat was open for all residents’ access from day one!

The well appointed Retreat provides both an environment of superb comfort and the encouragement of a healthy lifestyle. Various areas in the retreat provide opportunities for physical, intellectual, social and emotional well-being.

The facilities include:
* A heated swimming pool, including walk in ramp and spa
* Large open terrace areas with views to the Surfers Skyline
* Outdoor BBQ areas surrounding the pool
* Outdoor amenities
* Gym
* Theatre Room
* Billiard Room
* Library
* Community Lounge with specially designed dance floor and exclusive bar area
* Bistro / Kitchen facilities for entertainment functions or evenings
* A smaller multi-purpose room for card players, smaller meeting groups, craft gatherings etc.

As well there is a wide range of ongoing activities including groups with individual
convenors and monthly socials often related to special events or celebration days.

Support Services from within the Village:

The following lists some of the services available and other services that are able to be accessed outside the village, either from government establishments or on a user-pays basis.

Emergency call system - All units have a medi-alert phone and emergency buttons (able to be used as watch or pendent). This service is monitored on site 24 hours per day.

In-house telephone system - This system allows for internal calls throughout the complex and intercom communication to entrance gates at no extra cost.

Mail Out - Outgoing mail put in the post box at reception by 3.00pm would be posted the same day.

Mail In - Australia Post delivers to strategic points throughout the village. Parcels to be collected from the front office. Arrangements to be made for mail to be collected when residents are away.

Transport - Arrangements are able to be made through the Front Office Reception for drop offs or pick-ups in the local area. De Paul Manor Estate shares a 12-seater bus with De Paul Villa and will be available for a range of services including local shopping centres and entertainment venues. Dates and times will be advertised through the community notice board in the Residents Retreat.

Home Support Services - These include domestic and personal nursing services and are available on a fee for service basis through De Paul Villa, the adjacent Aged Care Facility.  For further information regarding other domestic and home nursing providers please contact administration for assistance.

Pharmacy - A pick-up and delivery service can be arranged through administration with a local pharmacist providing this service free of charge.

Medical Visits - General Practitioners visit De Paul Villa on a bi-weekly basis and Residents of the Manor will have access to this service should they require it.

Podiatry and Hairdressing - These services are available through De Paul Villa.

Newspaper delivery - Arrangements are able to be made with the local newsagent.
